New Delhi: While many questioned his poor form in tenth edition of Indian Premier League, Mahendra Singh Dhoni answered his critics in style by guiding Rising Pune Supergiant to a thrilling finish against defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 24 of the tournament.

Twitter went berserk after Dhoni's match-winning knock where he scored unbeaten 61 runs off 34 balls and rolled back the pages for his fans with a superlative performance in the death overs.


He might not be the player he once used to be, but the Ranchi-born cricketer is still hailed by many as one of the best finishers in the game.

In fact, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan is of the opinion that he is ready to sell anything to have the swashbuckling right-hander in his team.


“Yaar main toh usko apna Pyjama bech ke bhi kharid lun, wo aaye toh auction mein” said the Baadshah of Bollywood in Hindi which can be translated into “I am ready to purchase Dhoni even if it means selling off my pyjama, but he never appears under the hammer in IPL auctions.” according to Sportswallah.


The Bollywood hearthrob also expressed his disappointment at not being able to attend all the matches played by KKR, due to his hectic work schedule.

KKR, who are two-time IPL winners, are currently in a strong position in IPL 2017 having won five of their seven matches.


Since IPL's ten-year contract will come to an end after the ongoing season, Dhoni, along with a plethora of other superstars, will go under the hammer at the auction next year. While Chennai Super Kings will leave no stone unturned in trying to get back their skipper, it would be interesting to see whether SRK's men will be willing to spend exorbitant sums to buy him for Kolkata.
