But the real mauling came in his first over, in the ninth over, thanks to some lusty hittings from the KXIP skipper Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell hit the first ball over deep square leg. A flat six, which would flattened any bowler.

But Bhajji continued to drop shot, and came another six. This time it was even flatter, over mid-wicket.

Luckily for Bhajji, there came two singles with Maxwell and Wriddhiman Saha rotating the strike. But Maxwell returned to hit another six, this one a huge hit, over long-on, and deep into the stands.

Bhajji's spin partner Karn Sharma also suffered from Maxwell's brunt, but the 29-year-old from Meerut was lucky to get the wicket. In the eighth over, Maxwell hit Karn for two sixes, off the first and fifth balls.

A single ended the 21-run over. Maxwell soon departed but, Bhajji ended up leaking.
