The review helped India took their third wicket, before Lunch, and put Aussies in back foot after the Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first on a seemingly good looking Ranchi top.

That happened off the first ball of the 26th over, bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin to Shaun Marsh.

It was good bat-pad shout, with Cheteshwar Pujara taking a sharp catch. But umpire dismissed the appeal, to the chagrin of Indian players.

A perturbed Kohli took the review immediately, and it turned out to be a brilliant call.
