While Gambhir was a left-handed batsman, Sehwag batted right handed. The former would settle down first and then play his shots while the latter would play shots in order to settle down.

At the 1st Test between India and England in Rajkot, commentator Virender Sehwag opened up on several hilarious incidents on his long an illustrious career. It is almost given that the viewers will be enlightened with Viru's pun liners regularly if he is commentating.

While on commentary duty along with Kapil Dev and Akash Chopra, Sehwag revealed some over-superstitious incidents related to Gautam Gambhir.

He said, that the left-hander would make him eat the same food for days on an overseas series after he had scored in 90s eating that food. “Main pakh gaya (I got tired of eating the same dinner),” revealed Sewhag.

He also added that Gautam is a very religious person who indulges himself in ‘pooja-paath’(rituals and worshiping).

Viru himself admitted to have resorted to several superstitions in order to get his game going and Gambhir was certainly his partner-in-crime.

Considering that the pair averages about 53 runs together in Tests, which is one of the best in the world, the superstitions gave India an opening pairing they are still proud of.

Gautam Gambhir was dismissed by England's Stuart Broad on 29 early on 3rd Day.
