New Delhi: In order to emphasise the importance and significance of Vedas in our daily life, Rays of Wisdom Society NGO has organised ‘The Vedas: Eko Ham Bahu Shyam’ dance performance. It will showcase different aspects of the Vedic Culture & Lifestyle as Vedas, the scriptures of ultimate knowledge, show the path to purge negative past karmas and fulfil all human desires while maintaining the harmony in society.

The word Veda is derived from Vidya meaning knowledge. On the one hand, it propagates spiritual life and on the other, it teaches the ways of life to fulfil all human desires while living in this world. Today’s lifestyle has created conflict in interpersonal and social relationships. the wisdom of the Vedas and bring back Vedic living in contemporary India.


Through dance one will get to see how leading a Vedic life is important. The dance will depict the nature and philosophy of Vedas, human desires, the ashram system and the realisation of the ultimate truth- that is advaita - in Odissi and Gotipua Dance Styles.


The Dance will have the following items:


Mangalacharan


Sanskar: Discipline in Childhood


Grihasta: Importance of Women in Vedic Life


Nitya Karma: Importance of daily rituals


Sannyas: The Philosophy and Goal of Human Life


Eminent artistes such as The Vedas: Eko Ham Bahu Shyam Reela Hota, Gotipua: Konark Natya Mandap and several others will perform. Bijoylaxmi Hota has conceptualised, scripted and choreographed the event.


The original musical composition is by Padmavibhushan Rajan Mishra and Shri Swaraansh Mishra. purge negative past karmas and fulfil all human desires while maintaining the harmony in society. The event is supported by Ministry of Culture, ITDC, The Ashok and is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2017, at the Ashok Amphi-theater, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
