Mumbai, Oct 08: Aggregate net sales of Industrial Development Bank of India assisted companies rose by 10 per cent to Rs 56,268 crore in April-June quarter of fiscal 2003-04, compared to that posted during the same period of previous fiscal, according to a study conducted by IDBI. The other income of the firms rose by 43.8 per cent during the quarter, while total income rose by 11.3 per cent to Rs 57,277 crore from Rs 51,449 crore and aggregate cost of production rose by 11 per cent to Rs 48,019 crore from Rs 43,248 in Q1 of FY-03, IDBI said in a release here today.

IDBI conducted a study on the financial performance of 600 assisted companies based on their provisional or unaudited results. The study covered companies engaged in manufacturing and service industries, it said.
The companies' gross profit rose by 15.5 per cent during the quarter under review, while interest expenses declined by 14.8 per cent and interest expenses as a percentage of net sales fell to 5.8 per cent during the quarter from 7.5 per cent posted a year ago, it said. Bureau Report
