Acting on specific information about presence of a
militant in a house at Natipora at Civil Lines here, the
forces cordoned off the area and asked him to surrender.
However, the militant opened fire and in retaliatory action he was gunned down. The militant has been identified as Tassaduq Irshad of Multan in Pakistan, the sources said. One AK rifle, three magazines and 68 rounds were recovered from him, they said.
In another incident, one Khalid alias Usman of Karachi in Pakistan was killed by the security personnel in Nishat area of the city, the sources said.
An AK rifle, two magazines and 20 rounds were recovered from him, the sources said.
The operations were conducted jointly by CRPF and local police.
