Jaipur, Dec 02: Shattering all previous records, Rajasthan recorded 67.08 per cent polling in the assembly elections yesterday. The election department had tentatively reported 63 per cent polling yesterday but final figures, released today, put the turnout at 67.08 per cent, the highest-ever in the state.
The previous record stood at 63.49 per cent when the state went to the polls in 1998.
Hanumangarh district saw the highest turnout of 76.25 per cent yesterday followed by Ganganagar 75.55 per cent, Chittoregarh 75.19 per cent, Jaisalmer 73.53 per cent and Dholpur 73.47 per cent.
The lowest turnout -- 59.67 per cent -- was recorded in Bikaner district while all other districts registered over 60 per cent balloting. Bureau Report
