Patna, May 26: Counting of votes is underway in Bihar's Bettiah and Siwan Lok Sabha constituencies amidst tight security.
The counting began this morning in these constituencies. Results are expected by evening, election office sources here said. The two constituencies went to polls on April 26 but the Election Commission had ordered re-poll in 429 booths in Bettiah and 193 in Siwan which was held on May 24. The re-poll was ordered after the Election Commission inquired into complaints of large scale booth grabbing in the two constituencies. RJD strongman Mohammad Shahbuddin is seeking election for the fourth term from Siwan. He is facing Om Prakash Yadav of JD(U) and Amarnath Yadav of CPI-ML(Liberation). In Bettiah, BJP leader Madan Prasad Jaiswal is in the fray along with Raghunath Jha of RJD and noted film maker Prakash Jha.
