Bangalore, Aug 21: Cricket board will felicitate master batsman Sachin Tendulkar on his 101st Test Match in Mumbai, his home ground, which happens to be the first test against the West Indies from October 9 to 13.
BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya told reporters after the board's working committee meeting here that the celebrations would be on a scale to match the felicitate Sunil Gavaskar when he completed 34 centuries and Anil Kumble for his 10-wicket haul in a test innings.
In what is seen as a rare honour, BCCI has shifted the first test's venue from Kanpur to Mumbai, feeling that the home ground would be ideal for such felicitation. Kanpur's turn would come next in the rotation system, he said.
Dalmiya said Tendulkar would be playing his 100th test at oval in England and so, the board could not utilise that opportunity.

Dalmiya also said the fee for domestic players has been raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 with effect from last year. As much as 25 per cent of it would go to the players' benevolent fund, he added.
The working committee also emphasised the importance of revamping the role of BCCI referees. It was decided that more powers would be vested in BCCI referees to deal with various aspects more effectively, he said.
