Indore, June 20: An inter-state gang involved in stealing idols from temples has been busted following the arrest of two persons, a senior police official said here today. The two persons, both hailing from Rajasthan, were arrested last night in connection with a theft in Jian temple in Nandanagar area near here last week, additional police superintendent (ASP) G G Pandey told newspersons.

The stolen idols and other material including 13 `chhatra' (canopy) and cash box were recovered from their possession, he said.

The duo confessed during interrogation that they had committed thefts in Rajasthan, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Pandey said.

The gang also had plans to loot a rich family residing near Regal Cinema here, Pandey said, adding, the matter was being probed further.
