New Delhi, Feb 24: Seven officials of two firms were today "sentenced till the rising of the court" and their companies fined Rs 1.5 lakh for generating and supplying electricity illegally in the capital's Sainik Farms locality by the Delhi High Court. Finding the officials of Anupam Gardan and green country guilty of generating electricity by installing generators of prohibited capacity and distributing the same to residents of Sainik Farms, Justice Manmohan Sarin said that they were being sentenced to stand in the court till it rises for the day. The court also directed the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission and Delhi Pollution Control Committee to furnish a list of other firms generating electricity illegally in the locality. The court was informed that more than a dozen such firms were still operating in the Sainik Farms.
Imposing a fine of Rs one lakh on Anupam Garden, the court said that the firm would deposit the same in the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and the Rs 50,000 slapped on green country would go to the Delhi legal aid service account.

The Anupam Garden, whose generator was sealed on the court's earlier directive for "violating" the prohibitory order on running high capacity generator sets, had sold it to green country for Rs 16.6 lakh, it was informed.
The green country counsel submitted that the firm was not aware of any court directive when the sale deed was executed.
The court did not agree with their contention and said the firms had violated its order and committed contempt of court.
