New Delhi, Aug 04: Ghana on Friday said it supported India's candidature for a permanent seat in the expanded UN Security Council and also backed New Delhi in its fight against terrorism while appreciating its restraint during the recent "difficult times". "Ghana supports India's application for a permanent seat in the expanded UN Security Council," its High Commissioner to India Mike Oquaye told reporters here.
He said India had a perfect justification to bid for the seat.

Ghana also supports India in its "fight against international terrorism, which we do not subscribe to," Oquaye said.
Terming terrorism as a "trend against the new global order", he said peace was essential for trade and business, particularly in developing countries.

On the recent Indo-Pak stand-off in view of cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan, he said Ghana "appreciates Indian restraint and demonstration of maturity in difficult times of cross-border terrorism." Bureau Report
