New Delhi, Sept 08: Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today left on a five-day visit to the Indian Ocean island of Seychelles. Shekhawat's is the first high level visit by an Indian leader to the island republic since vice president Shankar Dayal Sharma's visit in 1991.

He was seen off by Lt Governor of Delhi, Vijai Kapoor, secretary general Rajya Sabha, Yogendra Narain and senior officials of the external affairs ministry.
