Darbhanga, Sept 10: Railway police rescued 18 child labourers allegedly being taken to Mumbai and arrested five persons in this connection last night at Darbhanga Railway station in Bihar, sources said today On a tip off, government railway police personnel rescued the children, all in the age group of eight to 12 years, from a train that had arrived from Jaynagar, sources said.

They were supposed to board a Mumbai-bound train from here, they said. Of the 18 child labourers, five were from Saptari district of Nepal and the rest belonged to Madhubani district of Bihar, the sources said.

Five persons, who were accompanying the children, told the GRP that the boys were being taken to Mumbai to work in a embroidery factory, they added.
