Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 18: BJP Kerala unit president PS Sreedharan Pillai on Wednesday dubbed as 'totally baseless' the reports that an emissary of the Sangh Parivar had recently met Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) supremo Panakkad Muhammadali Shihab Thangal to enlist his support for the efforts to settle Ayodhya dispute. "It is absolutely wrong. These reports were linked to the visit of a senior journalist to Thangal. It has nothing to do with the BJP or the Sangh," Pillai told a press meet when his attention was drawn to the matter. "The BJP is not in such a bad position to send emissaries to Thangal," he said. Pillai accused the Congress of trying to 'legitimaise' the Muslim League at the national level by taking that party as an all-India ally. The League was dubbed as 'a dead horse' by no less a person than Jawaharlal Nehru. The Congress plan to introduce League at the national level would lead to serious consequences, he added.
