New Delhi, Dec 03: Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and invited him to inaugurate 'Deccan Oddisi', a Palace-on-Wheels-like train, which would take tourists to famous destinations in the state. The Prime Minister has accepted the invitation and dates for it would be finalised in due course, Maharashtra government sources said.
Shinde had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi last night and briefed her on election tours undertaken by him in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.
The Chief Minister, along with his deputy Chaggan Bhujbal and several state ministers, had arrived here last night for the unveiling of the statue of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, great social reformer, in parliament house complex.
