Delhi, Sept 06: Zee News editor and news analyst Alka Saxena was honoured with the prestigious "Hindi Academy Sahityakaar Samman" for Journalist of the Year 2003-04. Noted Hindi litterateur and editor of `Hans` magazine was honoured with "Shalaka Award" for the year 2003-04. The awards were presented by Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit at a high-profile award ceremony in FICCI auditorium.
Saxena, is the first woman editor as well as programming head of a news channel and is currently working with Zee News.
She had also received the "Best Young Journalist Award" 2002-03 from the Institute of Journalism.
