Patna, July 23: The state government has given its nod to Bihar basic school teachers' appointment rules, 2003, formulated by the primary and secondary education department
paving the way for appointment of around 40,000 teachers in primary and secondary schools through the State Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
A decision to this effect was taken by the state cabinet
which met here yesterday under Chief Minister Rabri Devi,
official spokesman said today.
The most important aspect of the new appointment rule was provision for 50 per cent reservation for women, he said adding Urdu teachers would fill up ten per cent of the total vacancies and half of them would be women.
The decision would thus facilitate every district of the state to have four cadres for primary and secondary teachers, spokesman said.
The cabinet also approved the Draft Amendment Act to clarify the modalities for sale, purchase, ownership and maintenance of flats in multi-storeyed apartments and the registration of the agreements for sale between builder and purchaser of a flat would be mandatory, he said.
It cleared a proposal to pay Rs 144.57 crore as subsidy as part of the state's share for the Centre sponsored million shallow tube wells scheme under which 6.40 lakhs tub wells and equal number of pump sets provided to small and marginal farmers across the state during the next four years, he added.
