Homestead, Florida, Nov 17: Chevrolets swept the top three positions with Kevin Harvick 1.75 seconds behind Labonte and Jimmie Johnson finishing third.
Elliott, last week`s winner, led a race-high 189 laps of the 267 lap race at the reconfigured 1.5 mile oval only to suffer a blown right rear tire exiting turn two of the four turn oval. His disintegrating tire saw him slump to an eighth-place finish.
Although Elliot dominated the track, which was reconfigured from a relatively flat six degrees to a more racey 20 degrees, the race saw long battles of two and three cars side-by-side.
These included a fourth lap incident when Harvick went low trying to overtake Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch and his car banged into Newman`s sending Busch hard into the outside wall.
