Ballia, Oct 10: HRD Minister Murali Manohar Joshi today demanded the resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in the wake of CBI filing an FIR against him in a forgery case. "CBI has filed the FIR against Jogi in a serious case of forging documents and he should resign from the post on moral grounds," he told reporters here.

The filing of FIR by the CBI should not be given any political colour, Joshi said.

Replying to a question, he said there was no comparison between the Rae Bareli court's decision to frame charges against him in the Babri Masjid demolition case and the case against Jogi.

"Moreover, I had resigned soon after the Rae Bareli court verdict," he said, adding "since my resignation was not accepted by the prime minister, I am continuing in the government as a disciplined party worker."
Joshi left the press conference in a huff when asked whether there were any differences in the BJP over his resignation.
