IBM India introduces Thinkpad notebooks at Rs 55,000
New Delhi, Dec 02: Bringing down the price barriers, IBM India today introduced an entry-level notebook computer at Rs 55,000 targetting the small and medium businesses across the country and to offer high level computing at an affordable price.

The company has announced the availability of its first
time ever entry level notebook - IBM Thinkpad R40E - priced
at Rs 54,990, a company statement said here.
IBM Thinkpad R40E is a fully configured notebook with mobile Celeron Processor of 2 GHz-2.2 GHz speed, 256 memory, 20 GB hard disk capacity with windows operating systems.
Professional traders, home PC users, Soho segment are the potential buyers of the new notebook.
"The notebook market is gaining momentum. With this launch, we will reach out to professionals, businessmen and every home PC user and make the Thinkpad within their reach", Alok Ohrie, VP, Personal Computing Division, IBM India said. IBM Indis's distributors like Rashi Peripherals, Tech Pacific, Reddington, Iris will sell the notebook PC. Bureau Report
