Sonali Bendre created a wave when she was in Bangalore on Thursday to open TrendSmith jewellery store in Indiranagar. Interacting freely with the crowd, the actress revealed that she is fond of platinum and diamond jewellery. Of course, platinum is the in thing while gold is becoming passé. She also shared her tastes in clothes, casually elegant as far as possible, and how she keeps trim and fit despite a hectic schedule.
TrendSmith is an exciting endeavour from the House of TVZ- Nirmal Zaveri, a name with more than 100 years of experience in jewellery business. The store in Bangalore is the fourth in the country, closely following the store in Chennai.
The concept was born out of extensive research across several cities to understand the changing needs and tastes of consumers. The survey identified the trends in jewellery buying, like the fact that the Indian consumer today is more conscious of the aesthetic value and the design element while purchasing jewellery.
``TrendSmith understands that jewellery retail market is witnessing a transition and we cater to the emerging consumer. We want to offer serious jewellery which is exclusive, one of its kind and which will not appear elsewhere. We aim to forecast trends and given an international shopping experience in our stores," says Samrat Zaveri, Managing Director of TrendSmith.
The store has 21 lines of exclusive designer jewellery from leading designers of Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, and Gujarat. The brand names available include Aashi Jewels, Ashi Platinum, Ace Elite, Asmi, Aura 22, Bluefire, Brilliant, Dia Gold Creations, Featherz, Gehna, Hemi Sanghani, Karsihma Mehra, Mehta Jewellery, Nakshatra, Nirvana, Rachana, Roopa Vohra, Resentiques, the Mind's Eye Collection, and YS 18. The price range starts at Rs. 15,000.
The Mind's Eye collection needs a special mention. The visually impaired women affiliated to the National Association for the Blind have designed this jewellery. Though visually impaired, these women have used their inner inspirations and interpreted their emotions to see through their mind's eye and have created designs that are truly unique.
Also featured at TrendSmith is an unusual collection of silverware (Shaze), world-renowned brands of watches (Fossil, Pierre Cardin, and Carrera) and other lifestyle products. The ambience created at the store on 100 Ft. Road (HAL 2nd stage) Indiranagar is calm and relaxed. Customers have ample time and space to look and make their selections.
