Mandi, Mar 04: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today said that the party is willing to go it alone in Uttar Pradesh. "The Congress is ready for an alliance in UP, but if we are unable to finalise any partners, we are ready to go it alone," said Sonia.
According to reports, alliance talks with BSP are yet to reach a consensus, and the Congress appears unwilling to buckle under pressure from smaller parties.
"Talks are on in UP. No final decision has been taken yet," said Ambika Soni, AICC general secretary.
Meanwhile, referring to Deputy Prime Minister`s cross country yatra, she said, "The people, who are taking out the India Shining Rath Yatra are doing it because they are scared of a woman".

She held that her road show had evoked overwhelming response and was accorded a warm welcome wherever she went.
Sonia also alleged that there was rampant corruption in the NDA government, and her party would make it one of its main poll planks.
The Congress President is currently in Himachal Pradesh on an election campaign where she is touring three Lok Sabha constituencies.
