Mandsaur (MP), Sept 24: Members of Parliament and narcotic officers from opium producing areas of Madhya Pradesh will meet Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh today in New Delhi to demand hike in price and cut in average yield to protect growers.
Senior BJP leader and MP Lakshmi Narayan Pandey told reporters that the delegation would submit a memoranda of demands from the farmers of the areas and discuss policies in the scheduled meeting of opium product states which can ensure hike in price, reduction in average yield and pattas to the farmers.

Pandey said they would also submit to the minister and assessment report from the MPs who recently visited Australia to study opium production.
