Kanetkar, Anand bow out of Scottish Open
New Delhi, Nov 22: India`s Nikhil Kanetkar hopes to add another international title to his kitty came to an end when he retired from his second round tie midway against Welshman Irwansyah in the Scottish International badminton tournament being played at Glasgow.

Kanektar, who won his maiden international title in the Volant D'or Toulouse open badminton tournament at Cahors in southern France last week, forfeited the tie at 15-11 8-15 1-8 last night, according to information received here today.
In the first round, the south-paw, who was runners-up at this grade a tournament in 2001, was made to sweat by local qualifier Bruce Flockhart but managed to advance to the second round with a 15-10 8-15 15-6 victory.
Another Indian entrant, Chetan Anand, however, was no match to third seed Bjoern Joppien of Germany as he lost in straight games 6-15 9-15 to bow out in the first round of the tournament.
