Hyderabad, Nov 06: Finally, a match has clicked! After being recognised as one of the most eligible Indian bachelors and romantically linked to the likes of Aishwarya Rai and Yukta Mookhey, Sabeer Bhatia has found the woman of his dreams in Geeta, a Washington-based lawyer.
”Sabeer has informed us that he wants to get married. In fact, he has also consulted us about the date of the wedding. While he has suggested a date in February, we will decide after discussing the issue with family,” says Sabeer’s father Baldev Bhatia from Bangalore.

Love, of course, has everything to do with this dream match. And indeed, how Geeta, an NRI of Punjabi descent, became the arzoo of Sabeer’s heart is the stuff of which fairy-tales are made.

“Geeta was engaged when she first met 34-year-old Sabeer at a party,” discloses a close friend of the Bhatia family, “And the next thing we knew, Geeta had broken her engagement and was seeing Sabeer.” Sabeer, in turn, has gifted his lady love a beautiful ring.

At the same time, the news has come as somewhat of a surprise because, just six months ago, Sabeer’s parents were looking for a match for him,” says a close friend of Sabeer.
While the impending wedding is hush-hush, the Bhatia family was spotted at Maneka Gandhi’s People For Animals show in Bangalore, busy buying gifts for the bride-to-be. “The family picked up some shawls there,” reveals the family friend. Unfortunately for Bangalore, the wedding vows will be exchanged in Washington, with family and friends of Sabeer and Geeta flying down for the event.

Meanwhile, there is talk of the Bhatia family being unhappy with the match initially. “There was disapproval of sorts on the part of Sabeer’s parents,” says a friend of the family, “Although the family knew that Sabeer and Geeta were seeing each other, they were not aware that matters had reached the point where they wanted to marry.”
