Kanpur, June 21: The workers of a local jute mill today staged a dharna, creating traffic jam on the Kalpi road here after the management declared a lock-out, police said.

Senior superintendent of police M K Bashal said the workers began staging the dharna after the management of J K Jute Mill declared the lock-out from today, saying the mill
was running in huge losses.
The management, in a notice put up in the factory gate, also said the workers' dues would be cleared by July end. However, no official of the mill was available for comments about the closure.
