Madurai, May 01: The crime branch-CID of Tamil Nadu police, which had raided the residences of R R Gopal, editor of Tamil bi-weekly Nakheeran, including his ancestral house in Aruppukottai in Virdhunagar district, had wanted to know whether the editor had left any video-cassettes in the house. When the police team asked the relatives of Gopal staying in the ancestral house about the presence of any audio or video cassettes in the house, they denied.
According to CB-CID Dy S P Sundaram, the police officials also enquired about the whereabouts of the editor's father, Ramanathan.
Sundaram told newsmen today that the police team had come to enquire about Gopal's father and nothing else.
They had also picked up a photo album left in the house and enquired about many of the relatives who were found in the photographs. The team also wanted to know about the numbers written on a telephone directory found in the house. Bureau Report
