Dehradun, June 03: Hardwar district authorities today ordered an inquiry into a complaint against a ruling Congress MLA from Luxor constituency for allegedly firing at crocodiles. S K Maheshwari, district magistrate, Hardwar said that he had directed the district forest officer (DFO) to conduct detailed inquiry into a written complaint yesterday by one Anil Kumar, a resident of Kehra village in Luxor area, against the MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion.

According to the complainant the MLA, a former national wrestling champion, along with some of his friends had fired indiscriminately on crocodiles in Bhuvavali canal in the intervening night of May 27 and 28. However, it was not known whether any crocodile was killed in the alleged incident.

Meanwhile, Champion said he was being falsely implicated as he had exposed the corruption scandals against the SDM of the area.
