Nagpur, Mar 25: Congress president Sonia Gandhi accompanied by All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Kumari Shailaja today arrived at Nagpur before proceeding to Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh for campaigning. The Congress president touched down at Sonegaon airport here at around 1030 hrs this morning from Indore and after a ten minute stop left by helicopter.
Congress sitting MP in the dissolved Lok Sabha and party nominee for Nagpur constituency Vilas Muttamwar and local workers welcomed the leaders by offering garlands.
Speaking to the workers, Gandhi agreed to an election tour of the Chandarpur and Nagpur constituencies in Vidarbha on April 1 and 2. She expressed the wish to visit the famous 'Taj Baba Dargah' at Sakkaardhara, where 'Taj Baba's' ''Urs'' was currently on, during her tour of Nagpur.
The Congress president would be returning to Nagpur in the evening before proceeding to Raipur to campaign for the party candidates there.
