Jaipur, Aug 30: The Rajasthan government has dropped Tada charges against 40 people belonging to minority community for want of proof, an official release said today. "On review of Tada cases, it was found that serious charges were not proven in 11 cases and provisions of the act were dropped benefitting 40 people of minority community," it said. Listing various measures taken for the welfare of the people belonging to the minority community, the release said 20 caste groups among them have been included in the list of other backward classes in the state. Ten per cent of seats in coaching centres have been reserved for students of minority community to prepare them for different competitive examinations, it said.

A provision of Rs 50 lakh had been made for providing educational facilities in 500 more ‘madarsas’ during last year. Besides, about 400 para teachers, paid by the government, had also been appointed in ‘madarsas’.
For the first time, the minority commission is visiting different parts of the state to sort out problems of minority community, the release said. Several schemes and programmes have also been launched by the government to generate employment opportunities for the people belonging to the minority community and a cabinet sub-committee has been set upto closely monitor the implementation of the welfare programmes, the release added.
