Shimla, July 19: The number confirmed deaths in Wednesday's cloudburst in Kullu district mounted to 22 today with the recovery of one more body from the debris even as relief and search operations continued in full swing on the fourth day today, official sources said. Meanwhile two vital bridges at Pulianallah and Rauli washed away by flash floods were restored today.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kullu, R D Nazeem said that a body was recovered near Rauli, 2-km from Pulianallah, which bore the brunt of the cloudburst, and search for more bodies was on. He said that with the restoration of the bridge at Pulianallah, the worst affected areas in the valley were approachable by road now
About 450 ITBP jawan, assisted by 100 policemen and home guards were engaged in rescue operations and the entire 14-km stretch from Adit-III to Garsa was being thoroughly searched.
Arrangements were being made for cremation of the bodies of those victims all members of whose families had perished in the tragedy. Bureau Report
