Srinagar, Oct 15: In a bid to break the deadlock between his party and Congress, People's Democratic Party president Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has deputed senior leader Ghulam Hassan Mir to hold consultations with six and two CPI(M) MLAs comprising the people's democratic forum.

Mir was holding a closed-door meeting with these MLAs who formed an alliance last night and chose MLA and CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami as their leader. Sources said Mir has sought an intervention of the forum for breaking the deadlock between PDP and Congress

Mir reportedly asked the alliance MLAs to depute two of its members for holding consultations with the PDP and Congress leadership.

The sources said Tarigami has made it clear to MIR that PDP should relent on its demand for chief ministership. Bureau Report
