Srinagar, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture
Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar today said state's coalition
government has been giving top priority in improving the
infrastructure in schools and colleges.
Coalition government has already provided healing touch
to the education sector by upgrading infrastructure in schools
and colleges thereby making them centres of excellence, Zargar
said addressing students of a local college here today.
He said that Kashmir's past glory as a major centre for
learning and knowledge was being revived and asked all
concerned for setting up of libraries for the preservation of
ancient literature and heritage of the region.
Zargar said introduction of English as a compulsory
subject from primary level would enable state's youth in
acquiring competitive advantage at national level.
This would also make them capable to take the challenges
of the fast changing world, the minister said.
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj Mohiuddin said the coalition government was making earnest effort for making Kashmir a hub of knowledge based industry.
