Srinagar, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar today said state's coalition government has been giving top priority in improving the infrastructure in schools and colleges. Coalition government has already provided healing touch to the education sector by upgrading infrastructure in schools and colleges thereby making them centres of excellence, Zargar said addressing students of a local college here today. He said that Kashmir's past glory as a major centre for learning and knowledge was being revived and asked all concerned for setting up of libraries for the preservation of ancient literature and heritage of the region. Zargar said introduction of English as a compulsory subject from primary level would enable state's youth in acquiring competitive advantage at national level. This would also make them capable to take the challenges of the fast changing world, the minister said.
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj Mohiuddin said the coalition government was making earnest effort for making Kashmir a hub of knowledge based industry.
