Bandh begins in Tamil Nadu, normal life unaffected
Chennai, Sept 26: The nation-wide bandh called by Viswa Hindu Parishad to protest Tuesday`s terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar in Gujarat did not evoke any response in Tamil Nadu.

In the city, the train and bus services remained
unaffected. Schools and colleges, central and state government
offices and private establishments also remained unaffected.
Private vehicles were seen on the road in large numbers.
Reports from other parts of the state also indicated that normal life was not affected in the bandh, police said adding that no incidents had been so far reported.
A Madurai report said VHP's Bharat bandh did not evoke any response in the southern districts of the state though police had made elaborate security arrangements.
