Mugello, June 06: The world's most famous soccer referre Pierluigi Colina has joined Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi at the warm-up ahead of Sunday's Italian Grand Prix. All teams were in Mugello on Thursday (June 5) doing their final preparations for the Italian Grand Prix. Pierluigi Colina, the referee of the 2002 World Cup final, came to the track located in the hear of Tuscany and met with Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi. The two Italians exchanged some words as Rossi get ready to defend his lead in the fifth round of championship at the Moto GP race on Sunday (June 8). A lot is expected from Italian manufactures Ducati, considered the 'Ferrari' of motorcycling. Soccer enthusiast Max Biaggi was in charge of the soccer match played in a pitch decorated with baloons in front of paddock. The Italian who rides for Honda will looking be looking to improve from fifth place in the last Grand Prix in France, to close the gap at the top of the standings.


Spaniard Sete Gibernau, who enjoyed his pre-race time with Italian flag wavers dressed in local costumes, is hoping for another success after winning at the Le Mans.


Rossi leads with 90 points, Rossi is second on 67 while Gibernau stands in third place with 63.
