New Delhi, June 23: The Delhi High Court today issued notice to CBI on a bail plea of R Perumalsamy, personal assistant of former Union Minister of State for finance Gingee Ramachandran, accused in a 'cash for transfer' scam along with suspended IRS officer Anurag Vardhan. Perumalsamy has sought bail on the medical ground of his wife's pregnancy. A vacation bench of Justice A K Sikri directed the agency to verify Perumalsamy's averments in the application and fixed the matter for hearing on July 2 when it will hear the bail of Vardhan from whom former minister's pa had allegedly accepted bribe to get him choice transfer to Mumbai.
Seeking bail of Perumalsamy, his counsel submitted that his seven-and-half month pregnant wife has been admitted in the hospital due to some complications since June 20.

The court declined to consider his plea for interim bail after CBI counsel R K Dutt told the court that a connected matter pertaining to Vardhan was listed for hearing on July 2.
Parumalsamy was arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs four lakh from Vardhan to get him a choice transfer to Mumbai.

Perumalsamy and Vardhan are in judicial custody along with the Chennai-based Chartered Accountant a Krishnamoorthy, who allegedly arranged the meeting between the two.
The fourth accused S Padnanabhan, whose service has been terminated from IIT Delhi, where he was a project associate, has been released on bail. Bureau Report
