New Delhi, Jan 24: Flying over Pakistan's air space en route to India, Iranian President Syed Mohammad Khatami sent a message to his Pakistani counterpart Pervez Musharraf expressing the hope that relations between Islamabad and Tehran would further improve.

Khatami said, he hoped the historic friendly relations of the two nations and their shared cultural religious and historical backgrounds would further boost bilateral relations. Describing his Pakistan visit last month "fruitful and beneficial", the Iranian leader said, the trip had "opened a new chapter in the two nations' relations," the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported today.
