Imphal, July 14: An indefinite bandh began at Sadar Hills area of Senapati district in Manipur from today disrupting movement of traffic along the National Hghway 39, official reports said. The bandh, called by two organisations Kuki Inpi and Kuki Students Organisation in protest against the killing of three youths allegedly by Assam Rifles personnel yesterday, affected movement of passenger vehicles and trucks along the highway which passes through major part of the Sadar Hills area, the reports said. Official sources maintained three members of underground Kuki National Front (P) group were killed in an encounter at a village in Senapati. However, alleging that security forces shot dead three 'innocent' youths, the two organisations said in a statement that they would continue their agitational programme till the "culprits who killed the three were punished".

They further alleged the youths - identified as Kamkhola Haokip (16), his younger brother Sumkhosat Haokip (14) and Satkholun Haokip (15) - were called out of their houses by personnel of 14th Assam Rifles and later shot dead.

Some arms were recovered from the possession of the slain 'activists' after yesterday's encounter, he said. Bureau Report
