forwarded to him by Mumbai High Court on the alleged role of
former city police commissioner R S Sharma in shielding prime
accused in the fake stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi by
accepting his request for leave and appointing another officer
in his place.
"By appointing a new city police commissioner and
accepting Sharma's leave application I have acted on the SIT

had been taken against Sharma and more is likely to follow, the Chief Minister said, adding that he would submit action taken report to the high court on November 27.
However, Shinde refused to disclose the contents of SIT report on Sharma stating that it was confidential.
He further ruled out handing over the multi-crore stamp paper racket investigation to CBI saying, the SIT was doing an excellent job.
The decision on handing over the case to CBI would be taken by the high court as the present investigation by the SIT was being done under its guidance, Shinde said.
Appreciating the job done by sit, the chief minister said he had no doubts on the integrity of the SIT as they had arrested an inspector general and questioned a police commissioner in the investigations.
