Wana, Pakistan, May 03: Pakistan will free another 35 tribesmen arrested since a military offensive in march against foreign militants hiding near in rugged terrain near the Afghan border, an official said today. "We will release another batch of 35 prisoners tomorrow after completing their documentation," local administrator Rehmatullah Wazir told reporters.
He said the prisoners had been held in a tribal jail.

Their release will bring to 191 the number set free under an April 24 agreement with tribal elders.

Under the deal the government granted amnesty to five militants, including a former Taliban commander, who had been accused of harbouring and fighting alongside the fugitive fighters.
The deal also allows foreign militants to stay in the tribal region provided they register with local authorities and pledge to lead a peaceful life.

Pakistan on Saturday extended by a week the deadline for registration after hundreds of foreigners believed to be hiding in the region ignored the previous ultimatum which expired Friday. It also freed 78 tribesmen.
