Over 100 houses were washed away leaving about 500 people
homeless, the daily star reported today.
Beside Kutubdia, several other coastal islands have also been inundated by the tidal surge making people take refuge in cyclone shelters in the island, the report said. Many coastal embankment and fish cultivation farms were also damaged overflowed by the tidal wave.
