Desires often lead to disappointments and sorrow. In this mechanical life system, we lose ourselves while running after the riches and worldly pleasures. And thus, in order maintain equilibrium and remain grounded, it is important to seek refuge at the feet of Lord Shiva, the one who helps us in destroying unnecessary desires.

Visit Lord Shiva’s temple, offer milk, water and bilva leaves to the Shiva Linga.

You can chant this Shiva Moola Mantra on Mondays for an auspicious start to the week:

ॐ नमः शिवाय॥

Om Namah Shivaya॥

Meaning: I bow to you O Supreme Lord, the one who exists in my consciousness.
