Mumbai, June 14: BJP would formulate its strategy for this year's assembly elections in five states during its four-day "chintan baithak" (brainstorming session) slated to begin on June 17. The session will focus on the assembly elections and deliberate over strategy to be adopted keeping in view these polls, party's newly-appointed national spokesperson Prakash Jawdekar told reporters today.
The meeting has no agenda and no resolutions would be passed, he said adding that "it will be a free exchange of views".
The meeting, scheduled to held at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini at Uttan in neighbouring Thane district, would be attended by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, senior RSS leader Madandas Devi and over two dozen senior party functionaries.
Earlier, addressing the concluding session of the three-day media workshop for partymen, BJP national general secretary Pramod Mahajan said those handling the party's media cell had to play a crucial role in projecting the party's "right image".
"Care should be taken that no confusion should be created over the party's ideology during informal interactions with the mediapersons,” Mahajan said.
BJP's spokespersons and in-charge of media cells from various states participated in the workshop.
