Japan on Friday extended an additional $ 2.3 million emergency grant for relief work in earthquake affected areas of Gujarat. Japanese ambassador in India Hiroshi Hirabayashi handed over the cheque to N K Singh, officer on special duty to the Prime Minister's Office, in New Delhi on Friday.
The grant aid will be disbursed through the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, for assisting rehabilitation and reconstruction work in Gujarat, a Japan ambassy release said.
