Terminator 3 Set To Wreak Havoc On Box Office
Los Angeles, July 06: It looks like the Terminator is poised to cause some serious damage at the North American box office. `T3: Rise of the Machines` unspooled at preview screenings in dozens of cities on Tuesday and enjoyed strong ticket sales. In fact, the action flick collected more than $4 million dollars in a matter of hours despite an adult-oriented `R` rating.

That said, Arnold and his compatriots will have plenty of competition at the cineplex this weekend. Another sequel, "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde," features Reese Witherspoon in her trademark role as pink-clad, dog-loving lawyer Elle Woods. Luke Wilson reprises his turn as Witherspoon's boyfriend; Sally Field co-stars as well.
Meanwhile, a new animated film from the DreamWorks studio is looking to take a bite out of the box office pie. "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" features the voices of Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michelle Pfeiffer. Still, the family flick is expected to see significant competition from the blockbuster Disney-Pixar hit "Finding Nemo."
Katharine Hepburn will be remembered at this year's Venice Film Festival. Organizers have announced they'll hold a special screening of the 1955 drama "Summertime" in recognition of her many achievements. As a young actress, Hepburn won a best actress prize at the Venice festival. She died this past weekend at age 96.
Finally, there's good news for fans of the Star Wars movie franchise. This week, crew members in Australia began production on "Episode III" with scenes featuring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. In the latest chapter, Anakin Skywalker comes into conflict with Obi-Wan Kenobi as he grows closer to the dark side of the Force. The film is scheduled to be released worldwide in May 2005.
