“It is an absolute honour and pleasure to bring the crown to India. It was a huge responsibility and I feel immensely proud of myself right now. I'm also thankful to my parents, friends and well-wishers who supported me at every step of this journey,” Vartika said in a statement.

Vartika, who was second runner-up of the fbb Femina Miss India 2015 pageant and went on to become Miss Grand India 2015, clinched the international title amidst intense competition. The winner of the beauty pageant was Anea Garcia from the Dominican Republic.

The finale took place here on Sunday, where Vartika was seen contesting against 77 other countries. She also received $4,000.

Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock styled Vartika for the finale. For the final event, Vartika slipped into a gown with hues of champagne gold with delicate crystal detail, floral highlights and a mesh neckline encrusted with delicate gold work.

She also won the Best In Social Media contest in this third edition of Miss Grand International.
