Islamabad, Sept 14: Seeking solace in the fact that his players have been improving with very outing, Bangladesh coach Dav Whatmore today said he is happy with their show in the ongoing series against Pakistan even though the minnows have failed to win any of the matches on the tour so far.
"The improvement in overall performance of my boys is victory for me and I am achieving that," Whatmore told reporters at Lahore, where his team would play the third one-day international match tomorrow.
Pakistan, who blanked Bangladesh 3-0 the Test series, have already taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match one-day series. Whatmore, however, said he felt disappointed when his team failed to grab opportunities that came its way.
"The performance of my boys at the crucial moment disappointed me because I hate defeat. But when they will have improved their game they will become used to winning.
"I believe the days are not far away when my team will win the matches with collective effort in which all the players will make their due contribution," he said. Asked about tomorrow's crucial match, Whatmore said he would like to see his team perform better.
The coach parried a question on if there was a need to have side games during the tour.
"It is a matter between the two cricket boards and what they have decided I can't comment on that".
