Los Angeles, July 30: With just three stops to go before he hangs up the racquet for good, Michael Chang is hoping to recapture the fountain of youth just one more time. It has happened before for Chang. Winless on the tour in two years he put together an impressive string of victories to win the Los Angeles event in 2000. He also won here in 1996. "I was struggling and for some reason that week here in la i was able to win the title after not having won in quite some time," said Chang. Chang will play in Los Angeles before heading to a tournament in Cincinnati. The final event of his farewell tour will be at next month's us open. He has just one singles title win in the past four years and is a disappointing 1-6 so far this year.

Last week in Indianapolis, Chang lost in the opening round of a challenger event to world number 141 Eric Taino. In the eight events he has played this year, Chang has been eliminated in the first round six times.

"It's been a little bit of a struggle to get the kind of results I've had in the past, but I feel like there are still glimmers of that kind of play," Chang said.

Chang has won more than 19 million dollars in prize money since turning pro in 1988. He has 34 career singles titles and one grand slam crown.
